Holly started daning in January 2006 as a 30th birthday present and starting teaching in January 2007 (that would be her 31st Birthday present).
How did she end up at Le Bop??? “I needed to find something fun to do that would help me get fit and meet new people. Since I’m not really a gym bunny, dancing sounded good and modern jive was a style I hadn’t explored. I found Le Bop and have been addicted ever since”.
The most ridiculous place that she has performed was on a catwalk stage in an Adelaide pub during the final Adelaide Grand Prix. Memorable mostly because she was wearing a feather wig and a rather revealing dress singing ‘I Will Survive’.
Her favourite dance moment to date is Performing Routine Revolution at Melbourne Dance Weekender 2007. And finding her inner African dancer in the same weekend! Her fav move is the “Supergirl with the Holly dismount!”.
Other than her singing which is another one of her passions she has dabbled in many styles of dance including Ballroom, Jazz, Ballet (in which she describes herself as being as graceful as an elephant!) and has highlighted African Dance as the next style she would like to master.
Holly says “wherever I go, I eventually end up with the nickname ‘H’ (possibly because I’m too lazy to sign off my full name). I’m also known as the one with the wicked laugh. And my surname rhymes with ‘London’, thank you very much!”.
If there was a musical happening at school, she was in it! Including providing the vocals to the songs of the lead female in ‘Pippin’ – and the chick in the role had no idea that they’d turned her mic off and it was holly’s voice the audience was hearing! |
