Hi Cranbourne le boppers! Our classes at Cranbourne have been running for almost seven months now and we thought it was time to update you on all that’s been happening in that time and give you the chance to WIN a half price six-class pass so read on…..
DEMO AT BAXTER PRIMARY SCHOOL COUNTRY FAIR Thanks to those of you who came along to our demo in April. We danced on the back of a truck and taught a move or two to the crowd. Then we stuck around to watch some sheep shearing – it wouldn’t be a country fair without some farm animals!
VICTORIAN MODERN JIVE DANCE CHAMPIONSHIPS Congratulations to all those who competed in the Victorian Championships at Federation Square on April 22nd. The competition was of a very high standard and highly entertaining for the crowd. Competitors came from all over Australia and internationally to compete. We are pleased to say that over 50 spectators came to support our Cranbourne dancers - all the supportive cheers were much appreciated.
Specifically, we would like to congratulate Darryl Clunes who made it to the final of Beginner Dance With A Stranger.
We would also like to congratulate Becky Thomas on making the final of Intermediate Dance With A Stranger. Becky also performed a very entertaining cabaret routine that we were all impressed by – well done.
We would also like to thank and congratulate Simone and Andrew Weremijenko, Shoana Carey, Darryl Clunes, Becky Thomas and Kjell Schwab who danced with teachers Chris and Laura Serong in their team routine “Tease Me, Mony.” The team worked extremely well together and rehearsed intensively to make the team event a big success. This was the first dance competition for most of the team and they have received many commendations on their performance. The team are now considering taking the routine interstate to perform at the Sydney Competition over the Queen’s Birthday Weekend. We’ll keep you posted.
SIX-CLASS PASSES– WIN!!! Now that the competition is over, we are looking forward to seeing more of you in our weekly classes. It would be great to see those of you who haven’t visited us for some time and also to see some new faces. So, we have a special offer for you.
