David Chu (AKA B.B.D.) came to Le Bop in 2001 initially via the fabulous "Bent Bop". Since then, David has successfully learned to lead just as well as he follows. That means double the amount of dances available! Often described as Bi-danceual, its like having two different dancers in one compact package.
Officially, David started dancing in 1984 doing Jazz and Classical Ballet. "I was two years old" David claims. (cough, cough!). He has also taken classes in disco, hip hop, tap, funk, clogging, Latin and some ballroom over the years.
Recently returned from living and loving in Bonnie Scotland, he also danced competitively in the UK, achieving 1st Dance with a Stranger - Scottish Champs 2004, 2nd Intermediate - London Hammersmith Champs 2005 and 4th Intermediate - Blackpools Chance to Dance 2005. Australian highlights include Le Bop 2002 - 2nd Bent Bop, 3rd Groups. Le Bop 2003 - 1st Bent Bop, 2nd Cabaret, 3rd Groups. Ceroc Melbourne - 1st Battle of the Sexes 2003, 3rd Intermediate.
It takes two (at least) to bop so David would like to particularly thank his dance partners Niki Angelopoulos, Anthony Douglas and Wendy Morris...so far away. Also his partner Scott, for sharing in this crazy dance life.
David said "Le Bop changed my world, its given me so many fantastic opportunities and experiences that I'll never forget".
